Back in 2009, on the occasion of Martin Margiela's 20th-anniversary collection, the house showcased pieces from past collections. The twist was that although the show was a revisiting of older pieces, there were also slightly brilliant updates that put it right in the forefront of this summer's thinking.

Almost each and every look had that then/now familiarity and surprise about it. As for this remarkable deconstructed cigarette jacket, the original one dates from his first collections, beginning of the 90's. It features the same slightly puffed Edwardian shoulders, narrow waistline and thin side pockets. The slight changes are the missing buttons around the collar, that emphasize the elegance and sobriety of the silhouette. Although the unfinished and raw hems of the shoulders add a certain edge to the piece. 

She closes with two side hooks.

The jacket is made of 80% viscose and 20% cotton. 

Size label reads Italian 40, fits a XS size. 

Measurements : length : 66cm, bust : 40cm, waist : 36cm, shoulder to shoulder 36cm.

Condition : Very good.
