Joseph Debach is a shoedesigner famous for his spectacular and original artworks. He creates his shoes by using different kinds of material, like wood, iron, zippers and newspaper.

The personal text written by Debach and placed at the bottom of the shoebox reads: The idea for this shoe came to me on a hot summer night under a starry sky in the Center of Rome.

Some people chide me for my exasperated study of its material and shape, but this research embodies my attempt to express the poetry conveyed when molding them.

While my hands interpret and draw what I see and what I feel, my mind roams my daily fantasies of transforming every commonly used material into a joyful gesture Imbued with artistic meaning, embellishing even string, plastic or paper.

These clogs, from 2021 are almost entirely made from zippers, with a leather insole and a leather sole.
