Comme des Garçons button down shirt from the 2001 Spring Summer ready-to-wear collection.

Rei Kawakubo’s work in the early aughts is marked by its graphic impact, and her Spring 2001 collection is a case in point. Titled Optical Shock, it mixed camouflage with dizzying Op Art patterns and florals, and see-through jeans with fantastical millinery made with materials like plastic bags, bubble wrap, tinfoil, and caution tape.

Made from a fine cotton, the shirt features a very unique pixel camouflage pattern, that can be find throughout the rest of the collection.

The piece features classic aspects of a button down shirt, simple collar, small pocket on front and buttons on every cuff.
