Beaded, pearl-like bracelet in burgundy by Vivienne Westwood. The bracelet features a dangling pearl detail, and a golden heart with a red-engraved iconic Vivienne Westwood orb.
Pre-owned, very good vintage condition.
During the 80's Vivienne Westwood was working a collection where the theme of royalty stood central but with a futuristic touch, the idea of taking tradition into the future. Inspired by Astronomy magazines and the crown jewels, she stranded on the orb figure which later became the house trademark of her brand. The first orb pendant appearance was in the Harris Tweed AW'87-'88 collection.
Vivienne Westwood is contemporary fashion’s preëminent iconoclast. Being punk’s prototype, Vivienne’s early work and experiments influenced an entire generation of British youth. With a sensitivity to traditional English textiles and fabrics and opening her work to the dialogue of cinema, art and popular culture, she is one of the most innovative designers alive today.
Her women are audacious, flirty, sexy, intellectual and feminine — and never commonplace. Vivienne Westwood’s women are truly chique. She has created a fashion universe that is at once theatrical, irreverent and completely original. The signature is unmistakable.
