Gianni Versace (°1946-1997) saw fashion as a mixed platform where media, fame, sensuality, art and sexuality came together. Versace, King of Glamour, designed for desire and preferred silhouettes with colourful fabrics and prints that explored theatrical-, dramatical- & risqué effects. “I don’t believe good taste”.

Gianni Versace was killed in front of the Versace Mansion in 1997. His younger sister and muse, Donatella (°1955) took over creative direction from that year onwards, in her designs her brother’s legacy lives on.

If I want to be blonde, I am not going to be a medium blonde. I am going to be totally blonde. If I am going to wear heels, they are not going to be two inches high. They are going to be much higher. It is the freedom of extremes that I love." - Donatella Versace
